Tips
for pet Leopard Geckos
Here are a few tips for Leopard Geckos, that I have read, found, or used and made.

#1
Regular handling of each leopard gecko you own makes them more and more tame,  and they also like to be held. I recommend at least five minutes a day of holding a leopard gecko.

#2
If you just put a large number of crickets in the geckos tank to eat, don't try to stick your hand into the feeding frenzi!  Leopard Geckos have a tendency to try and eat every thing that moves during the time, and your finger is a target, even though they don't mean to bite you, your finger is just another cricket.  (When you get bitten, It does not exactly hurt.)

#3
When feeding mealworms or large crickets, cut a small gash in the bugs so the geckos digestive juice can kill them quicker, because the mealworms and crickets may actually try to eat through the geckos gut and out the gecko!  This will kill them.

#4
A Water dripper will encourage the geckos to drink because the water is moving.

#5
In the crickets enclosure, place a wet spounge for them to drink from.  Then once the geckos eat them the will have water in them.

#6
I know geckos are cute, but after handling any reptile, always was your hands, just in case of samonella.

#7
Turning any lighting off during feeding will encurage the geckos to eat.

#8
Mist the cage every day, because not only do geckos drink from the bowl they will lap water from walls, too.

#9
To much handling of a gecko can be stressful.  The signs of stress are lack of activity, hiding when someone is in the room, loss of appetite, and and biting.  A good solution is to cover the geckos tank for about a week with a towel or blanket, and make sure to give it 12 hours of day and 12 hours of dark.  If this does not seem to work, see a pet perfessional or herpetologist.  (Thanks Denise, for this wonderful tip!)

More later!  I hope these help some!
